UNI Theatre

UNI Theatre 1997-2001

A Midsummer Night´s Dream by William Shakespeare, directed by Vinetta Strombergs, produced by Terry Costa and Rob Simas
In 1997, in the 'sleepy city' of Mississauga Ontario, Terry Costa founded the first independent/alternative theatre company for the city, UNI Theatre. Five years later, when Costa decided to move to other challenges, the city boosted half a dozen theatre companies, many of them founded by UNI Theatre artists. During the five years in Mississauga, Costa worked with many artists, the company ran workshops, festivals and produced 12 works for the stage. From original material to Canada's premiere of Anthony Burgess A Clockwork Orange, from the summer-long Shakespearean extravaganza A Midsummer Night´s Dream (photo) to the international tour of Torch River.
